A.N.: By the looks of it Gileswench came to my rescue in the nick of time. She was kind enough to post this groups addy, a nasty computer virus attacked and caused nothing but headaches. This is part of three short drabbles but I only ever printed this part so it was only one spared. Will rewrite as resurrection will take more time than I have to give. The sequence was Xander's POV, Giles' POV and Third Person POV.
****************
"You worthless stupid piece of shit!" The drunk man thundered at the cowering adolescent boy before bringing his belt down for another blow.
Xander was beyond pain as he chided himself for being blind sided by the old man. 'If I had just been quicker or more aware' another jolt of white hot electricity shot through his already traumatized upper back.
The fuzziness of unconsciousness was bidding the young man to come and Xander fought it. He was not willing to give him the satisfaction.
"What the bloody 'ell do you think you're doing!" Raged a new but welcomed voice.
Xander forced his puffy eye lids a part to see what was going to happen. A sense of retributional glee began to well up as he saw the look on Giles' face.
Before Xander could even form the word he wanted it was over. He watched in amazement as the stuffy librarian swung into action and laid the drunk man out in a series of punches.
'I gotta ask him to show me those moves.' The teenager thought as he began to sit up with a struggle, everywhere it was painful from his knees to his shoulders.
Giles bent down to assist Xander in sitting up, "Come on, Xander, lean on me."
An overwhelming sense of warmth and safety began to spread through out his body.
He began to loose consciousness, but he could not resist the temptation.
